Student entrepreneurship is one of the main planks of our entrepreneurial ecosystem, and this month’s news round-up includes several examples from among the hundreds of active companies founded by fantastic Imperial students and alumni winning significant business and investment.
Our student startup community has been greatly assisted by your support as friends and collaborators of the College, whether you’re providing expert mentoring, sponsoring entrepreneurship programmes, or building connections with the community at our events.
With your vital support we’re building an entrepreneurial ecosystem that’s becoming a living, growing and increasingly self-reinforcing network that extends well beyond the boundaries of our campuses.
This week, eight student founders have become the first to sign up to our Founders' Pledge, under which they undertake to make philanthropic contributions to Imperial and the development of our startup support infrastructure after they exit or make it sufficiently big. This pledge is their vote of confidence in the ecosystem you are helping us build.
I’d like to offer my profound thanks for your contribution to our efforts to translating bright ideas from science and business into commercially successful and world-changing ventures and I encourage you to keep following our news and attending our events. If you’d like to discuss opportunities to engage with Imperial’s student startups, please drop us a line on enterprise@imperial.ac.uk
Best wishes,
Dr Simon Hepworth
