Get the inside track on commercial opportunities from some of the UK’s top universities

I often write to you about opportunities from inside Imperial. As part of our commitment to deliver impact from the overall university spinout sector, we also invest thought and energy into the best ways of collaborating with our peers, to bring you the best of the best from multiple universities.

This month, I would like to invite you to secure your tickets now for two major events in early autumn, when we’re partnering with multiple universities to bring you multiple opportunities.

For the inside track on early investment in the most promising startups from undergrads, postgrads and recent alumni students from London universities, get your ticket for London Demo Day 2023, taking place on Thursday 14 September.

Hosted by King’s College London, in partnership with Imperial, London School of Economics and Political Science and University College London (UCL), come and hear from founders looking to raise £100,000-£1.5M, in sectors including health, digital, finance, consumer and environment.

The following week, we invite you to head over to Imperial’s South Kensington campus, where we’re hosting more than 80 innovative researchers from the UK’s top four patenting universities – Imperial, Cambridge, Oxford and UCL. Our first joint university tech fair - IP4U - takes place Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 September.

Focussing on innovative technologies in sustainability and future health, we have designed IP4U to make it easier for you to discover and licence IP from multiple universities. Come along to find out about translational funding opportunities, and ways of partnering with us to develop new technologies ready for commercialisation.

We look forward to seeing you at these events, and to working more closely with you to further the UK’s reputation as a science superpower.

Best wishes,

Dr Simon Hepworth
